PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrzej Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hikaru Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andrzej Blake had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Hikaru Sato will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andrzej Blake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hikaru Sato!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato scores with a body shot.
Sato throws a head kick but Blake moves out of range.
Blake connects with a right hand. Sato shakes it off.

Blake feints and as Sato raises his hands in defense, Blake changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Blake won't allow Sato to get back to his feet.
Blake trying to control but Sato is working from the bottom.
Blake controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Blake drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blake jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Blake not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Sato has his feet on Blake's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Sato blocks the body kick.
Sato lands with a nice combination. Blake backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Andrzej Blake has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blake avoids the head kick by Sato.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A head kick misses from Blake.
Sato lets loose with a powerful body kick. Blake will feel that in the morning.
Blake is breathing heavily.

Sato drops Blake with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Blake looks back up at him and smiles so Sato waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Sato lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Blake - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Sato!
