The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monfriesz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Angel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Monfriesz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Angel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Monfriesz manages to get himself to full guard.
Angel has gone for a leg lock! Monfriesz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Angel's guard.
Angel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Monfriesz is looking for a sweep. Angel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Angel is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Angel is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Monfriesz knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Monfriesz for a finish.
Angel is persistently looking for the submission but Monfriesz is defending it well.
Monfriesz breaks Angel's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Monfriesz wants to control from the top but Angel keeps moving.
Angel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Monfriesz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Angel is trying to control the position but Monfriesz postures up.
Angel has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Monfriesz doesn't defend quickly enough and Angel has managed to lock this one up! Can Monfriesz escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Angel on a fantastic submission victory.
