Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Punky Funky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Senor Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Punky Funky has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Punky Funky seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to clinch but Funky is having none of it.
Funky swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jones makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Funky leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Funky looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Punky Funky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Funky tries a head kick but it misses.

Funky throws a good cross that connects.

and Funky holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Funky goes for a takedown attempt but Jones pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Funky swats him away and circles back towards the center.

It looks like Jones might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Funky napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Funky displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.
The fight stays on the outside here - Funky looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Senor Jones hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Funky escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones shoots for a takedown but Funky saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
