Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugo Z Hackenbush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Folkner!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hackenbush is looking to clinch but Folkner is avoiding it.
Nice defenses there by Folkner.
Folkner swats away the attempt to clinch by Hackenbush.
Hackenbush tries to clinch but Folkner moves out of range.
Hackenbush shoots in but no luck this time.
Hackenbush throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Folkner's waist but Folkner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hackenbush off to one side.
Hackenbush shoots for a double leg takedown but Folkner sprawls well. He's pushed Hackenbush's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hugo Z Hackenbush. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Folkner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hackenbush scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Folkner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hackenbush sprawls well initially but Folkner persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hackenbush works his way to full guard. Good work.
Hackenbush keeping moving, preventing Folkner from controlling successfully.
Hackenbush might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Folkner wants to stand but Hackenbush is controlling his posture from full guard.
Folkner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Folkner wanted to stand there but Hackenbush had control of the position.
Folkner trying to control the position from guard on top but Hackenbush is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Folkner would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Hackenbush is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Folkner has his hands clasped together but Hackenbush extends an breaks Folkner's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Hackenbush.
