PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaleb Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White comes to the cage accompanied by Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man. Phillips has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Adam White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kaleb Phillips!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Phillips throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Phillips thows a body shot but no joy.
Phillips loads up on a big right hand but White slips the punch.
White swings for the body but Phillips moves out of range.
White swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A jab-cross combination lands for Phillips and sends White crashing to the mat! Phillips follows him down to the mat - White regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

White is rocked!
Phillips missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
White is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

White is staying active underneath Phillips, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

White has one foot on Phillips's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
White dips to his left and cracks Phillips with an uppercut!
White misses with a combination
and Phillips counters with a right hand to the body.
Phillips digs a good hook to White's body.
White falls off balance throwing a combination
and Phillips makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
White is breathing heavily.
Phillips throws a lazy uppercut
enabling White to counter with a crisp jab.
Phillips thows a left - swing and a miss!
White keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Phillips lands a head kick that stumbles White and the fighters go to the mat.
Oh White is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
White is looking to stand up but Phillips isn't so interested in that idea.
Phillips passes into half guard.
White seems to have got his legs back now.
Phillips is keen to just control but White is a slippery customer.

Phillips seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like Phillips is going to stand back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

White kicks Phillips off and gets back to his feet.
Phillips lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
White throws a lazy head kick
and Phillips connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kaleb Phillips is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Whack! Phillips lands a heavy head kick that drops White. The ref tackles Phillips to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because White was done.
