Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lager Assassin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Hero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Assassin comes to the cage accompanied by yes. Hero has chosen Giant Squid - Panthalassa as his entrance music. Sub Hero is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Lager Assassin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sub Hero!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assassin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hero manages to avoid it.
Assassin shoots and misses

and Hero counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Assassin!
Assassin slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Assassin manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Assassin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Assassin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hero defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Assassin controls Hero momentarily but Hero frees himself.

Assassin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Assassin has his foot on Hero's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hero works his way back into a safe position though.

Assassin gets back to full guard.

Hero connects with a couple of short punches.
Assassin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hero throws a big right hand that misses.
Hero throws a strike but Assassin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Assassin throws and elbow that misses. Hero uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Assassin's guard. Nice move by Hero!

Assassin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hero is aware though and is defending well.
Hero is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Assassin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hero has picked Assassin up and slammed him! Assassin can't keep hold of the triangle and Hero manages to pass to side control!
Hero gets to mount! Assassin was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hero cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Assassin manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Hero wants to take a breather but Assassin is having none of it.
Assassin trying to get back to full guard but Hero takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Assassin is in all sorts of trouble here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Assassin wants to control but Hero is having none of it.

Assassin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hero!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Assassin counters with a nice uppercut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hero walks into a straight right hand from Assassin.

Assassin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Assassin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hero moves away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Assassin moves into range and connects with a jab.
Hero throws a poor cross that misses
and Hero takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Assassin thuds a left hand into Hero's body.

Hero uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Assassin.

and Assassin counters with a three punch combo that has Hero backing up. Hero nods at Assassin to acknowledge the strikes.
Hero gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Assassin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hero doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Assassin counters with a left to the body.
Lager Assassin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sub Hero.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hero ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Assassin misses with a hook.

Assassin throws a looping overhand right but Hero ducks down to avoid it.
Hero loads up on a big right hand but Assassin slips the punch.

and Assassin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Assassin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Assassin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hero's head.
Hero keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Assassin looks to land a strike but Hero avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Assassin wants to control from the top but Hero keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Assassin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Assassin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hero is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Assassin, into his guard.

Lager Assassin had his way with Sub Hero in that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Hero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Assassin trying to control the position from guard on top but Hero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

I would just about give that final round to Sub Hero.
I think Hero has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
