Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Furstenfeld (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bjorn Ironside (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Furstenfeld kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Linkin Park - No More Sorrow. Bjorn Ironside has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bjorn Ironside!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Furstenfeld throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Ironside counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ironside throws a hook to the side of Furstenfeld's head but Furstenfeld sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ironside circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ironside misses with a lunging right hand
and Furstenfeld counters with a nice body shot.
Furstenfeld throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ironside tries to clinch up.
Ironside throws the left hand but Furstenfeld avoids the punch easily.

and Ironside counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bjorn Ironside seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ironside swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Furstenfeld counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Furstenfeld has gone for a leg lock! Ironside slips out almost immediately though and dives into Furstenfeld's guard.

Furstenfeld is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ironside defends well.

Furstenfeld isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ironside stacks Furstenfeld on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ironside!

Ironside is looking to take a break and control but Furstenfeld is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Furstenfeld tries to roll over but Ironside keeps him under control.

Ironside ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Furstenfeld moves away.
Ironside slips under a jab from Furstenfeld.
Furstenfeld changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ironside tries to avoid it but Furstenfeld manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ironside to the ground. Ironside escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ironside misses with a lunging right hand
and Furstenfeld counters with a straight right hand.
Furstenfeld cracks a nice hook into Ironside's ribs.

Ironside moves to clinch but Furstenfeld breaks away
and Furstenfeld counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Furstenfeld counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Furstenfeld is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Ironside got a little sloppy there for a moment and Furstenfeld has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ironside has managed to get both his arms back between Furstenfeld's legs - danger averted.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Furstenfeld, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
