Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexi Laiho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alexi Laiho!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laiho tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Harris counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Laiho's guard now.
Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laiho swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Harris drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Laiho dives on top into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harris has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Laiho can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Harris looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Harris throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Laiho is looking to stand up but Harris won't let him.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Laiho postures up.
Harris looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Laiho puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Harris regains full guard. Nicely done.

Laiho avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Harris throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Harris is looking for a triangle here but Laiho uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Harris wants to control but Laiho postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harris is trying to strike from the bottom but Laiho has passed into full mount.
Harris is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Harris is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Harris can't escape the position.
Laiho avoids the attempt from Harris to control.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Laiho stands up from mount. Strange move.
Laiho moves to clinch but Harris breaks away

and Harris counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Harris wants to control from the top but Laiho keeps moving.
Harris postures up in Laiho's guard and throws a big left but Laiho blocks it.
Harris trying to control but Laiho is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Harris trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Laiho is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Laiho manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Harris really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Harris dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Harris throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Laiho works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Harris missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Laiho is looking to stand up but Harris isn't so interested in that idea.
Laiho is trying to keep Harris in close.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alexi Laiho was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Harris counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Harris.
Harris slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Laiho working a defensive guard but Harris manages to pass into side control anyway.

Harris is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Laiho is trying to escape and Harris transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Laiho is forced to tap! Nice work there by Harris! Very nice indeed!
