Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cross Lavi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuushi Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakuraba comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wax Tailor feat. The Others "Walk The Line" kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cross Lavi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuushi Sakuraba!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba looks to score with a jab to the body but Lavi is just out of range.
Sakuraba gets caught napping as Lavi dives in and scores a takedown. Sakuraba manages to retain guard.
Sakuraba wants to get back to his feet but Lavi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Sakuraba looking for a sweep. Not yet Sakuraba, not yet.
Lavi won't allow Sakuraba to get back to his feet.
Lavi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Lavi throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Lavi decides to stand back up.
Lavi shoots and misses
and Sakuraba counters with a body kick that stops Lavi in his tracks momentarily.
Sakuraba stalks Lavi and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lavi's face. Lavi staggers backwards, shaken.
An inside leg kick lands from Sakuraba.
Sakuraba lands a high kick!
Lavi tries for a takedown but Sakuraba circles away easily
and Sakuraba counters with a nice uppercut.
Sakuraba throws a leg kick that misses.
Lavi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sakuraba can pounce on him.
Lavi fails with the takedown
and Sakuraba counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cross Lavi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lavi wants to stand but Sakuraba is controlling the position.
Lavi throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Lavi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sakuraba defends it easily.
Sakuraba slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Sakuraba content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Sakuraba trying to control but Lavi is working from the bottom.
Lavi is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Sakuraba frees his head nicely. Oh but Lavi has switched to an armbar! Sakuraba is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
