Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Craven Morehead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Howe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morehead's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Mystery of Chess Boxing. Tim Howe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craven Morehead!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Howe!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morehead lands a nice leg kick that just misses Howe's sensitive parts.
Howe throws a right hand that Morehead ducks under and follows up with a left that Morehead also avoids with ease.
Morehead keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Howe fails with a takedown attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Howe enables Morehead to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Howe manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Howe wants to stand up but Morehead is controlling him.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Craven Morehead.
Morehead misses with a double jab

and Howe counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Morehead is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Howe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Morehead is working an open guard so Howe takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Howe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Howe stuffs the takedown attempt from Morehead. Morehead gets slowly back to his feet.
Morehead avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Morehead. No joy for Howe on that attempt.
Craven Morehead has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Howe.
Morehead swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Howe counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Morehead!
Howe is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Morehead gets back to half guard.
Morehead is not content to let Howe control the position.
Howe is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Morehead wants to improve his position but Howe is controlling well.

Morehead shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Morehead was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Howe squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Howe gets back to half guard.
Howe is looking to get back to full guard here but Morehead has managed to pass to side control instead.
Howe is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Morehead lands a nice forearm strike.

Morehead wants to stand but Howe has his arm trapped.
Howe is trying to improve his position.
Morehead wants to control but Howe is keeping him busy.
Howe pushes Morehead away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Morehead gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Howe tries to improve position but can't.
Morehead wants to control but Howe is keeping him busy.
Morehead tries to score with some ground and pound. Howe controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Morehead decides to stand back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Howe clinches.
Morehead tries to land a knee to the head but Howe blocks with his arms.

Howe has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Morehead regains guard immediately.
Howe connects with a couple of short punches.

Howe decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Howe.
Morehead misses with a looping right.
Morehead shoots in for a double leg but Howe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Howe gets a clinch.
Morehead prevents a takedown attempt there.
Morehead wants to break the clinch but can't.
Howe fails to pull the fight into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Howe avoids the elbow strike from Morehead, against the ropes.
Howe presses Morehead against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Morehead is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Morehead misses with the head strike.
Morehead gets underhooks to prevent Howe's takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Howe dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Howe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Morehead to the mat! Morehead manages to get full guard.

Morehead is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Howe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Howe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Howe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Howe wants to pass the guard but Morehead is keeping the position.
Howe is breathing heavily.
Howe landing some decent shots from guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Howe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Morehead trying to keep a closed guard but Howe is proving a slippery customer.
Morehead wants to sweep but no luck.
Howe is standing up over Morehead. Morehead looks to escape but Howe dives into side control.
Morehead takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Tim Howe has got the better of the ground game so far.
Howe has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Morehead!
Howe lands a nice shot to the head.
The referee warns Morehead that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Morehead is desperately trying to improve his position but Howe has a good base and remains in mount.
