Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sir Bowie Punchalot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Hickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sir Bowie Punchalot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Hickson!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punchalot dives in and grabs Hickson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hickson pushes down on Punchalot's head and hops out.
Hickson looks to clinch
and Punchalot counters with a head kick.
Hickson misses with a takedown attempt - Punchalot sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Punchalot keeps the fight on the outside.
Punchalot pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hickson back to the cage. Punchalot follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Hickson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Punchalot to the ground. Hickson is now in Punchalot's guard.
Hickson is stalling in the full guard.
Hickson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Punchalot wants to get back to his feet but Hickson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Hickson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Punchalot, up you get!
Punchalot with a poor takedown

and Hickson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Punchalot won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hickson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hickson has his takedown stuffed

and Punchalot counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Punchalot pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hickson is keeping the position for now.

Hickson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Punchalot can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hickson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Punchalot trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Punchalot is in close to Hickson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Hickson pulls Punchalot in close to prevent any damage.
Punchalot throws a strike but Hickson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hickson stands up from Punchalot's guard - Hickson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Punchalot misses with a takedown

and Hickson counters with a shoot takedown. Punchalot fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sir Bowie Punchalot. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Punchalot is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hickson distracts Punchalot with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Punchalot wants to stand but Hickson is controlling the position.
Hickson slips nicely into half guard.
Hickson lands with a punch from half guard.
Still in half guard, Hickson seems content to control.
Hickson passes the guard and advances to mount!
Hickson lands a heavy elbow.
Punchalot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hickson on the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hickson content just to control the position here.
Punchalot wants to get back to his feet.

Hickson scoring with strikes but Punchalot is staying in there.


Punchalot is rocked!


It looks like Sir Bowie Punchalot has been cut.

Punchalot defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hickson.
Hickson connects with a bit shot that sees Punchalot covering up! More strikes from Hickson and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Hickson is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matt Hickson!
