Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Masakatsu Ueda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Wiltsie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wiltsie has chosen Mein Herz Brennt as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Masakatsu Ueda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Wiltsie!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiltsie tries a head kick but it misses.

and Ueda counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wiltsie won't be happy with that.
Ueda trying to control the action but Wiltsie is working from the bottom.

Ueda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wiltsie keeps working.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wiltsie thuds a left hand into Ueda's body.
Wiltsie thows a body shot but no joy.
Wiltsie slips a straight right by Ueda.

and Ueda counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ueda.

Wiltsie is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ueda dives into side control.
Wiltsie is not content to let Ueda control the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Wiltsie is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ueda has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Wiltsie is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

and Ueda connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A solid leg kick lands there for Ueda.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wiltsie wants to clinch up but Ueda keeps it at a distance.
Wiltsie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ueda moves away.

Ueda moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ueda tries for a takedown but Wiltsie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wiltsie is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wiltsie pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Wiltsie throws a nice outside leg kick.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wiltsie tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ueda is able to avoid easily.

Wiltsie misses with a head kick.
Wiltsie throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

and Ueda counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ueda throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wiltsie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ueda slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ueda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ueda wants to control from the top but Wiltsie keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Masakatsu Ueda.
Wiltsie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wiltsie is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ueda rather than just go for the knockout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wiltsie throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Ueda counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wiltsie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Still in half guard, Ueda seems content to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Ueda's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Ueda tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Wiltsie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Ueda counters with a leg kick.
Ueda throws a hook but Wiltsie avoids it easily.

Wiltsie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ueda circles away quickly and effectively.

Wiltsie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ueda sprawls well. Ueda wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wiltsie gets slowly back to his feet.

and Ueda counters with a stiff right hand.

Wiltsie scores with a sloppy right hand. Ueda should have avoided that one.
Wiltsie fails with the takedown

and Ueda counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Wiltsie kicks Ueda off and gets to his feet.

and Ueda counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Wiltsie throws a lazy uppercut
and Ueda counters with a stiff right hand.
Ueda shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wiltsie sprawls well. Wiltsie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ueda gets slowly back to his feet.
Ueda shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Wiltsie looks to land a body kick but Ueda moved away.

Wiltsie buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Ueda counters with a single leg into guard. Wiltsie didn't expect that.

Robert Wiltsie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
A clash of legs there as Ueda blocks the low kick.
Wiltsie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ueda was well out of range. Poor timing from Wiltsie.

And that's the end of the fight!
Masakatsu Ueda showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ueda, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
