PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Morlock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randle Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randle Floyd told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randle Floyd!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Floyd scores a takedown into full mount!

Floyd get's back to his feet.
Floyd fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Morlock lands with a slapping head kick.
Floyd throws a sloppy head kick

and Morlock counters by clinching up.

Floyd turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Floyd manages to end up in side control.
Morlock looks to move to half guard but instead Floyd has passed into mount! Damn!

Morlock knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Floyd on the ground.

I wouldn't like to be where Morlock is right now.
Floyd grinds an elbow into Morlock's temple.
Floyd throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Floyd wants to stand but Morlock is controlling his arm.

Morlock is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Morlock is working hard here to advance position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Floyd slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Randle Floyd dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Morlock darts in and clinches Floyd up against the cage.
Morlock lands a nice elbow.

Morlock has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Floyd uses from the top position.

Floyd drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Morlock manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Floyd has Morlock in his guard.

Floyd working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Morlock doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Morlock manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Morlock is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Floyd is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Floyd has escaped and now he's on top!

Floyd escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Morlock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Floyd lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Morlock!

Floyd fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Floyd has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Morlock's face.

Morlock fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Floyd.
Floyd shoots for a takedown but Morlock saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Randle Floyd comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Floyd winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
