Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anaquod Irwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Altschuler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Altschuler!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Irwin looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Altschuler is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Altschuler trying to strike off his back.
Altschuler wants to improve his position but instead Irwin has moved into half guard.
Altschuler is trying to maintain the position but Irwin is very close to passing his half guard.
Altschuler won't allow Irwin to pass to mount.
Altschuler is looking to control Irwin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Altschuler avoid being mounted?
Altschuler wants to improve his position but Irwin is controlling well.
Irwin lands with a punch from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Irwin stops Altschuler from getting back to his feet.
Irwin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Altschuler on the ground.
Altschuler tries to roll over but Irwin keeps him under control.
Irwin tries to stand but can't do so whilst Altschuler controls his leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Altschuler tries to land a front kick but Irwin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Irwin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Irwin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Irwin stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Altschuler misses with a takedown

and Irwin counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Altschuler is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Irwin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Irwin looking to slow down the pace here.
Altschuler is working for takedown but Irwin is calmly controlling the position for now.
Anaquod Irwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthew Altschuler.
Altschuler looks gassed!
Altschuler is trying to break the clinch but Irwin has him pressed against the cage.
Altschuler should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Altschuler jumps guard but Irwin stands there with Altschuler around his waist. Altschuler gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Irwin pulls guard effortlessly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Irwin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Altschuler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Altschuler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Altschuler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Irwin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Altschuler looking to sit in guard and control but Irwin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Irwin gets to his feet. Altschuler looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Altschuler is trying to keep Irwin in close.
Irwin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Altschuler looking to hit a scissor sweep but Irwin is one step ahead there.

Altschuler has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Irwin should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Altschuler has tightened it up now! Irwin should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
