Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Iam Dabest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mahdi Makungu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mahdi Makungu!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dabest shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dabest tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dabest wants to clinch up but Makungu keeps it at a distance.

Makungu looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Makungu not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Makungu thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Makungu trying to control the position from guard on top but Dabest is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Makungu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Makungu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Makungu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dabest is just riding it out for now. Makungu eventually gives up the hold.
Makungu is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Dabest is trying to maintain the position but Makungu is very close to passing his half guard.
Dabest wants to improve his position but Makungu is controlling well.
Dabest is working hard here to advance position.

Makungu is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Dabest has managed to free his arm - good work.

Makungu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dabest doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Makungu.
Dabest is trying to get back to full guard.

Makungu is controlling the pace.
Makungu stops Dabest from getting back to his feet.

Dabest tries to get to full guard but Makungu has control of the leg.
Makungu has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Makungu mounts Dabest! Really nice guard pass there!
Dabest is desperately trying to improve his position but Makungu has a good base and remains in mount.

Makungu tries to control but Dabest wriggling away.
Dabest is in all sorts of trouble here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Makungu is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Dabest has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Makungu is working for a guillotine from mount but Dabest frees his head quite easily.
Dabest has given up his back. Will we see Makungu going for some submissions?

Makungu is cranking Dabest's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Dabest! He's tightened the choke and Dabest is tapping out!
