Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Pinkney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chris Carwin!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinkney has a takedown stuffed.
Pinkney changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carwin tries to avoid it but Pinkney manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carwin to the ground. Carwin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carwin lands with a right hand.
Carwin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pinkney.

and Carwin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Pinkney. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pinkney ducks right into an uppercut from Carwin.
Carwin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Carwin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pinkney on the side of the head.

Carwin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Pinkney doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Pinkney moves to clinch but Carwin breaks away
and Carwin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Carwin digs a good hook to Pinkney's body.
Pinkney walks into a left hand.
Pinkney takes a jab right on the kisser.


It looks like Michael Pinkney has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Michael Pinkney seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pinkney walks into a stiff left hand from Carwin.

Carwin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Carwin has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Carwin is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Pinkney had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Pinkney has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Carwin finds it's way round the side to connect with Pinkney's head.
Carwin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pinkney on the side of the head.
Pinkney looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Carwin cracks a nice hook into Pinkney's ribs.
Carwin clobbers Pinkney with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Pinkney gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Carwin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Pinkney takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Carwin jabs at Pinkney's body.
Carwin thuds a left hand into Pinkney's body.
Carwin shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pinkney eats them both and turns towards Carwin to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Carwin cracks Pinkney with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carwin uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pinkney has time to react.

Carwin has Pinkney up against the cage in a clinch.

Carwin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carwin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Carwin, as that shot connected.
Pinkney shoots and misses
and Carwin counters with a one-two to the body.
Carwin throws a series of strikes that have Pinkney backpedaling.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carwin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pinkney on the side of the head.
Carwin is working the combinations to good effect here.
Nice uppercut lands for Carwin. That snapped Pinkney's head back.
A jab lands there for Carwin.
Carwin lands a head shot.
A left and a right from Carwin both land. Nice combination.

Pinkney looks to clinch
and Carwin counters with a left and a right that stings Pinkney.
Chris Carwin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Carwin connects with a body shot that sends Pinkney's belly button to the back.
Carwin connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Carwin fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Carwin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Pinkney takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pinkney takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Carwin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Carwin.
Carwin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Pinkney walks into a left hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carwin lands a head shot.
Carwin moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Pinkney tries to clinch but Carwin moves out of range.
Carwin connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pinkney momentarily.

Carwin scores with a hook.


Pinkney is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carwin lands a hook that stumbles Pinkney back into the cage. Carwin follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Pinkney to the canvas! Carwin pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Pinkney has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
