Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between White Pawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boyd Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, White Pawn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Boyd Lucas!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Lucas.

Pawn is working for a submission of some sort.
Pawn seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pawn working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lucas is trying to control but can't.

Pawn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lucas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pawn.

Pawn is looking for a kimura but Lucas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pawn to get the leverage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Pawn uses his free foot to push down on Lucas's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lucas.

Pawn is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lucas has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Lucas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pawn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pawn is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lucas to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lucas shrugs it off.
Pawn misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Pawn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pawn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Pawn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lucas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
A lull in the action here as Pawn stalls from top position.

Pawn goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lucas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pawn but great work by Lucas.

Pawn kicks Lucas off and gets back to his feet.

Pawn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lucas did well to prevent Pawn getting side control.

Lucas parries the strikes from Pawn easily there. Pawn is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lucas to escape.

Pawn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lucas, who protects the arm well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lucas is looking to reverse the position.
Pawn advances to mount.
Pawn controlling the pace for now.

Pawn wants to finish this one by submission but Lucas is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Pawn.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Pawn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of White Pawn.
Lucas darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Pawn tests Lucas's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Pawn lands a lovely overhand right.

and Pawn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Pawn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lucas's corner calls for a 1-2. Lucas obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

enabling Pawn to counter with a crisp jab.

White Pawn showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Pawn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
