Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Slaughter House (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spider Murphey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murphey has chosen Prayer of the Refugee as his entrance music. Murphey has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Slaughter House!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Spider Murphey!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

House changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Murphey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Murphey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Murphey wants it to stay on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Slaughter House just wasn't active enough.
House dives in and grabs Murphey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Murphey pushes down on House's head and hops out.

House misses with a series of wild punches.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Murphey is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Murphey controls House momentarily but House frees himself.

Murphey is working an open guard so House takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Murphey counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

and Murphey counters with a three punch combo that has House backing up. House nods at Murphey to acknowledge the strikes.

House is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Murphey's half guard.

House postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Murphey to stand up.
Murphey shoots in for a double leg but House sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and House counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by House.
House is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Murphey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
House passes into half guard.
House is thwarting Murphey's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slaughter House dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



House shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
House is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
BOOM! House connects with a massive shot to the dome!
House is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Murphey is in real trouble.
Murphey staying busy and making it hard for House to control.
House is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Murphey can do to turn this around?
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
House lands with a hammerfist to the side of Murphey's head.

Slaughter House overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

House is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. House gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. House gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. House apologises and we restart here on the feet.
House wants to clinch up but Murphey keeps it at a distance.

Murphey is looking to land body kicks.
No joy there for House, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
House is trying hard to land a takedown here. Murphey sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

House can't find room to land a body shot as Murphey controls the action.
Murphey tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. House just stands there and leans against the cage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Murphey tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Murphey jumps guard and drags House to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Murphey wants to stand up but House is controlling him.
Murphey controls House momentarily but House frees himself.

House chips away with some ground and pound.
Murphey utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Murphey can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as House controls the pace.

Murphey manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Murphey lands a heavy elbow.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Murphey is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on House's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for House! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Murphey has tapped! This one is allllll over!
