Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Volk Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Puman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Puman comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Lunatic Soul - Lunatic Soul kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Volk Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jan Puman!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Puman as he avoids it easily.
Puman thumps Khan with a low kick.
Khan fails with a takedown attempt.
That kick from Puman tenderised Khan's leg. Khan is trying to keep his angry face on.
Both fighters circling a little - Puman finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Khan misses with a looping left.
Puman tries to clinch up

and Khan counters with a shoot takedown. Puman fights it but they end up in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Khan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Puman keeping full guard, as Khan tries to pass.
Khan advances position into side control!

Khan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Puman manages to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Khan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Puman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Khan is looking for a kimura here.
Khan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Puman!

Khan mounts Puman! Really nice guard pass there!
Khan wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Puman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Khan moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Puman has worked his arm free - good work by Puman!

Khan is trying to get an arm triangle but Puman is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Volk Khan dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Puman motions for Khan to come forward. Puman throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Puman lands with a kick to the temple. Khan shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Khan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Puman tries to clinch but Khan moves out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Khan.

Puman is trying to get back to half guard.
Khan advances nicely into full mount.
Puman is in a horrible position here. Khan smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Khan trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Puman prevents Khan from taking his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Puman is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Khan goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Puman turns into him and now he's in Khan's guard.

Khan looking for a guillotine here but Puman defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Puman sitting in guard here, content to control.
Khan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Puman manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Khan stands and throws Puman's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Puman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Puman is not content to let Khan control the position.

Khan is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Puman looks calm but he's in trouble here. Khan gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Puman is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Khan lets go of the hold and Puman can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Volk Khan!
