Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Royce Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Slava Protasenko!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Protasenko gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Gracie counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Protasenko!

Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Protasenko has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Protasenko wants to hold on but Gracie pushes him away.

Gracie gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Gracie drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Protasenko keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie passes Protasenko's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Protasenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gracie is pressing down on Protasenko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Protasenko is holding on for now.
Gracie is keen to just control but Protasenko is a slippery customer.

Gracie could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.
Protasenko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back!

Protasenko is trying to stick to Gracie's back but Gracie is turning into Protasenko. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Protasenko's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Gracie.

Protasenko looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gracie puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Gracie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

and Gracie counters with a takedown into side control.
Protasenko looks gassed!

Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Protasenko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Protasenko is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Protasenko has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gracie is trying to get an arm triangle but Protasenko is defending well.

Gracie has hold of Protasenko's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Protasenko seems comfortable defending it but Gracie has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Protasenko is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Protasenko is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gracie couldn't care less - he's delighted!
