Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Kos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins has chosen Dare as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Kos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins digs a good body shot into Kos's ribs.
Kos throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jenkins misses with a straight right.
Kos misses with a two punch combination.
Kos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jenkins.
Jenkins jabs at Kos's body.
No joy there for Jenkins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jenkins pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kos back to the cage. Jenkins follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Kos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kos has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Kos moves into the clinch.
Jenkins lands a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jenkins tries to throw a body punch but Kos avoids it by throwing Jenkins back against the cage.

Jenkins tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kos's elbow.
Kos tries to break the clinch but Jenkins is controlling the position.
Jenkins can't find room to land a body shot as Kos controls the action.

Jenkins unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Kos is breathing heavily.
Jenkins cracks Kos with a nice body shot.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Jenkins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jenkins pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jenkins was covering up waiting for the punch and Kos finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jenkins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kos manages to get himself to full guard.
Jenkins engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Jenkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Kos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jenkins is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Josh Kos wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Jenkins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jenkins lands with a shot to the body.

Jenkins tries to keep at a distance but Kos has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jenkins crunches a lovely knee into Kos's ribcage.
Jenkins is leaning against Kos and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Jenkins digs a right hand into Kos's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kos's gas tank.

Kos pulls guard successfully.
Jenkins wants to control from the top but Kos keeps moving.
Kos is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jenkins is controlling him.

Jenkins advances to half guard.
Jenkins takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kos is trying to stand up here but Jenkins is controlling him well.
Kos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kos tries to get out of the position.
Jenkins controlling the action here.
Kos is refusing to be controlled, as Jenkins sits in half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kos wants to improve his position but Jenkins is controlling well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kos is looking for a sweep. Jenkins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jenkins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kos.
Jenkins tries to bum rush Kos with a series of wild strikes but Kos uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kos closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jenkins pushes Kos off looking to stand but Kos dives back in and keeps control.

Kos stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Jenkins tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricky Jenkins dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kos misses with a few strikes there.
Jenkins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jenkins gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kos to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Jenkins is controlling Kos's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kos wants to stand but Jenkins has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Jenkins has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kos off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Kos closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jenkins's guard.
Jenkins has his hands on Kos's head, controlling the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jenkins's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kos has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jenkins is proving hard to escape from.

Kos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kos is trying to trip Jenkins. He has hold of a leg but Jenkins is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Kos persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Kos has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jenkins uses from the top position.
