Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rusik Abasov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zhelyazko Velilkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rusik Abasov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zhelyazko Velilkov!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Velilkov clinches up with Abasov and pushes him back against the cage.
Velilkov is struggling to control the position.
Abasov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Velilkov pulls his leg out and moves away.

Velilkov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Abasov's guard.

Abasov working for a triangle but Velilkov defends it easily.
Velilkov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Abasov is keeping the position for now.
Abasov keeping moving, preventing Velilkov from controlling successfully.
Velilkov is pushing down on Abasov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Abasov is fighting to maintain full guard but Velilkov has managed to sneak the leg through.

Abasov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Velilkov pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abasov is trying to get back to full guard.

Velilkov is working for a submission of some sort.

Velilkov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Abasov is just riding it out for now. Velilkov eventually gives up the hold.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Velilkov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Abasov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Velilkov.

Velilkov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Abasov defends it well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Velilkov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Abasov has managed to free his arm - good work.

Abasov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Velilkov pulls his head out easily.
Velilkov is trying to control the action in half guard but Abasov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Velilkov is looking for a kimura but Abasov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Velilkov to get the leverage.

Abasov is refusing to be controlled, as Velilkov sits in half guard.

Velilkov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Velilkov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Velilkov is trying to work for a kimura but Abasov is defending well.

Velilkov wants to work for an arm triangle but Abasov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Velilkov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Velilkov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Abasov is trying to defend but Velilkov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Well, if Velilkov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Velilkov moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Abasov.
Abasov manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Velilkov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Abasov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Velilkov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Abasov, into his guard.
Abasov can't keep his opponent in guard - Velilkov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Velilkov maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Abasov could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Velilkov has cracked it and Abasov is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Velilkov!
