The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stankovic throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nakano was covering up waiting for the punch and Stankovic finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Nakano looking for a sweep. Not yet Nakano, not yet.
Stankovic would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Nakano is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nakano tries for a takedown but Stankovic circles away easily

Stankovic has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Stankovic fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nakano sprawls well initially but Stankovic persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Stankovic drops back looking for a leg! Nakano is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nakano manages to kick Stankovic off! Stankovic jumps back into Nakano's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nakano is on top in guard.

Nakano tries to stand but Stankovic is controlling from the bottom.
Nakano stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stankovic swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stankovic lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nakano!
Stankovic can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nakano is looking to escape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Nakano keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Nakano is squirming around, avoiding Stankovic's attempts to control the action.

Stankovic is working for a guillotine from mount but Nakano frees his head quite easily.
Stankovic avoids the attempt from Nakano to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stankovic is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nakano has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nakano!

Stankovic has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Nakano off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Stankovic dives in and scores a takedown into Nakano's guard.
Stankovic has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nakano is proving hard to escape from.

Stankovic is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nakano is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nakano has escaped and now he's on top!
Nakano passes Stankovic's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Horrible takedown by Nakano or perhaps it was just good defense by Stankovic which made him look bad.

Nakano fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

George Stankovic is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
