Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Severn!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Coleman counters with a single leg into guard. Severn didn't expect that.
Severn trying to control the position.
Coleman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Severn working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Coleman.
Coleman distracts Severn with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Severn holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Coleman throws a big right hand that misses.
Severn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Severn tries to pass the half guard into mount. Coleman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Coleman keeping control of the position.
Coleman wants to get back to his feet.
Severn throws a strike but Coleman avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Severn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Coleman has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Severn off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Severn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Coleman sprawls well initially but Severn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Severn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Coleman's head.
Severn with the ground and pound but Coleman uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Severn trying to control but Coleman is working from the bottom.
Severn is working Coleman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Severn trying to control the position from guard on top but Coleman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Severn looking to pass the guard.
Coleman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Severn manages to get himself to full guard.
Coleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Severn has wrist control.

Coleman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Coleman prevents Severn from getting back to his feet.
Coleman throws and elbow that misses. Severn uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Coleman's guard. Nice move by Severn!
Severn trying to control the position from guard on top but Coleman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Severn is looking to work some ground and pound but Coleman has wrist control.
Severn stands and throws Coleman's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Severn looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Coleman is avoiding damage well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Coleman sneaks back into half guard.
Coleman blocking the ground and pound attempt from Severn.
Coleman keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Severn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Severn not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Coleman is looking to control Severn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Coleman avoid being mounted?
Coleman wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are battling for position here. Coleman manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Severn looking to pass the guard.
Severn wants to control from the top but Coleman keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Coleman dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Severn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Coleman counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Severn!
Severn is in all sorts of trouble here.
Severn wants to get back to his feet.
Severn is looking to improve his position but Coleman isn't that keen on the idea.
Coleman looking to finish with strikes here!
Coleman lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Severn hang on?

Coleman throwing strikes here but Severn is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Severn is rocked!
Coleman unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Severn wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Coleman celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
