And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ray Charles!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charles darts in trying to clinch

and Oshchepkov counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Charles!
Charles is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Oshchepkov landing strikes from the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
BOOM! Oshchepkov connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oshchepkov scoring with strikes but Charles is staying in there.
Oshchepkov misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
You get the feeling that Charles really doesn't like being in this position too much.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Charles can do anything to dispel that myth.

Charles is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

No joy there for Charles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Charles has Oshchepkov up against the cage in a clinch.
Charles trying to land knees to the body.
Charles throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Oshchepkov blocks it with crossed arms.
Oshchepkov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Charles prevents it.

Oshchepkov has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Charles clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Oshchepkov cracks Charles with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Charles from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Oshchepkov has his arm under Charles's chin here. Game over son! Oshchepkov squeezes tightly and Charles is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Vasilii Oshchepkov!
