Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzales is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Eminem - Go to Sleep. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Rafael Gonzales!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonzales shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Clark is trying to defend but Gonzales finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gonzales is looking to take a break and control but Clark is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Clark has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gonzales is working away from the top position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gonzales looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Clark is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gonzales is pressing down on Clark's thigh, looking to free his foot. Clark is holding on for now.
Gonzales seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rafael Gonzales was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Gonzales closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Clark is trying to improve his position.

Gonzales really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clark. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Clark wants to control but Gonzales is keeping him busy.

Gonzales is not content to let Clark control the position.
Clark is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Clark postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ground and pound from Clark seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Clark is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gonzales is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Clark working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Gonzales tries to buck Clark off but Clark is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Clark tries for a kimura but Gonzales is defending well.
Clark looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Gonzales is avoiding damage well.
Gonzales avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Clark.
Clark with the ground and pound but Gonzales regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Clark wants to work for an arm triangle but Gonzales is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Clark wants to take a breather but Gonzales is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Clark dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Clark tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gonzales was well out of range. Poor timing from Clark.

Gonzales is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Clark's half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Gonzales is looking to take a break and control but Clark is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rafael Gonzales wasn't active enough on the ground.

Gonzales working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Clark's thigh. Clark counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Gonzales wants to control from the top but Clark keeps moving.
Gonzales stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clark swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Clark has his hands on Gonzales's head, controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rafael Gonzales.
Clark misses with a lunging right hand

and Gonzales counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Clark manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gonzales manages to get himself to full guard.
Gonzales looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Gonzales tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Clark drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gonzales manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Clark has Gonzales in his guard.

Rafael Gonzales comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Gonzales has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
