The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harwood connects with a body shot.
Harwood fails with the takedown
and Yoshida counters with a thumping low kick.
Yoshida misses with a combination
and Harwood counters with a stiff right hand.

Ken Yoshida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Harwood.

enabling Yoshida to counter with a crisp jab.

Harwood has control of Yoshida's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Yoshida regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harwood can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Yoshida is looking to escape.

Harwood jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Yoshida is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Yoshida and Harwood has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Yoshida is trying desperately to improve position.

Harwood blocks the strikes from Yoshida.
Yoshida is trying to maintain the position but Harwood is very close to passing his half guard.
Harwood tries to pass the half guard into mount. Yoshida knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Yoshida is squirming around, avoiding Harwood's attempts to control the action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Yoshida makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Yoshida manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Yoshida cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Yoshida has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Harwood to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Yoshida is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Harwood pulls down on the head and he's put Yoshida to sleep! This one is all over!
