Mallon is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by im not afraid. John Mallon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tchepikov wants to clinch up but Mallon keeps it at a distance.
Tchepikov throws a sloppy body shot
and Mallon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Tchepikov throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Mallon counters with a right hand that sends Tchepikov tumbling to the canvas! Can Mallon finish him? He dives into Tchepikov's guard looking to do just that!
It looks like Maksimilian Tchepikov has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mallon throws a big right hand that misses.
Tchepikov wants to get back to his feet but Mallon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mallon missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Mallon forces his way into half guard.
Mallon lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Mallon is working for a kimura but Tchepikov is defending it quite comfortably.

Tchepikov wants to get back to his feet.
Mallon trying to control from Tchepikov's half guard. Tchepikov has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Mallon trying to control but Tchepikov is working from the bottom.
Mallon won't allow Tchepikov to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mallon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mallon throws a big right hand that misses.
Mallon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tchepikov is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tchepikov has escaped and now he's on top!
Tchepikov trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Tchepikov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Tchepikov is looking to stand up but Mallon won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mallon preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Mallon keeping moving, preventing Tchepikov from controlling successfully.
Tchepikov wants to get up but he can't break Mallon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Maksimilian Tchepikov has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Tchepikov moves away from the strike by Mallon.
Tchepikov tries to clinch up but Mallon circles away and keeps his distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Tchepikov throws an off balance right hand
and Mallon counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tchepikov thinking.
Mallon bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mallon throws a poor cross that misses
and Tchepikov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tchepikov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mallon.
Tchepikov misses with a body punch
and Mallon counters with a huge left! Tchepikov is in big trouble! He's backing up but Mallon isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Tchepikov from any more damage. A dominating finish by Mallon!
