Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott comes to the cage accompanied by the Black Dahlia Murder - Deathmask Divine. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walter Jones!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones walks into a stiff left hand from Scott.
Scott moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Scott swivels and escapes.
Scott misses with the combination.
Scott throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.
Scott could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Scott tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.

Jones shoots in and bounces Scott off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jones slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jones advances to full mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Poor strikes thrown by Jones there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Jones goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Scott is on top in guard.
Jones looks gassed!
Jones is trying to hold Scott in close to prevent damage but Scott has managed to pass into half guard.
Scott tries to stand but can't do so whilst Jones controls his leg.

Jones actively working from the bottom here.

Scott stands up and beckons Jones to join him on the feet.
Jones dodges the punch combination from Scott.

Scott tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Scott.
The fighters circling - Scott throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A nice inside leg kick there by Scott. That's going to slow Jones down.
Jones gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Scott.
Jones is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Scott.
Scott works over Jones's head and body with a nice combination.


Jones is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Scott rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Scott finish him?
Scott lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Scott breaks from the clinch.
Scott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones seems to have recovered his senses.
Scott throws a leg kick but Jones sees it coming and moves out of range.
Scott is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Scott tries to clinch up.
Shane Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Scott dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jones. That did some damage!

Jones moves into the clinch.
Scott can't break the clinch.
Scott lands with a light punch inside.
Jones tries to score a body lock takedown but Scott shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Scott manages to break the clinch.
Scott looks to clinch

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones slips nicely into half guard.
Jones passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Scott!
Scott wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Jones.

Jones looking for a guillotine from mount but Scott is having none of it.

Jones is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Scott is surviving well by controlling Jones's body position as best he can.

Scott avoids a strike by Jones and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Jones's guard! Fantastic escape!

Jones looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones wants to get back to full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Scott dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jones has a takedown stuffed.
Scott tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Scott.
Scott throws a series of punches but Jones moves out of range.
Shane Scott is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Scott, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Scott against the cage but Scott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Shane Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walter Jones.
Scott throws a left and a right that both miss

and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Scott!

Jones is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Scott can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jones is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Scott has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Scott!
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Scott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Scott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jones looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Scott passes into side control.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones tries to improve position but can't.

Scott decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Scott throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
Scott misses with a double jab.
Jones tries for a takedown but Scott sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Scott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Scott's guard now.
Jones stops Scott from standing up.
Jonesis looking to pass into half guard but Scott pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Scott is in guard.

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Scott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Scott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jones looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Scott avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Scott wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jones is looking to sinch up a triangle. Scott throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jones's body to avoid the submission. Jones has instead reached around Scott's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jones arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Walter Jones!
