Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Faber has chosen California Love - Tupac as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Alexander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Faber!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alexander scores with a takedown into Faber's guard.
Faber really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alexander. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Faber tries to strike from the bottom.

Alexander is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Faber shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Faber showed some decent athleticism there.
Alexander is not content to let Faber control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Faber prevents Alexander from improving his position.
Faber seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Alexander has his takedown stuffed

and Faber counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Alexander has his foot on Faber's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Faber works his way back into a safe position though.
Faber won't allow Alexander to sweep him here.
Alexander is breathing heavily.

Alexander is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Faber seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

I looks like Faber might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Faber stands and throws Alexander's legs to the side, diving into side control.

A lull in the action here as Faber stalls from top position.
Faber connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Alexander some visible discomfort.
Alexander is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Faber's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Alexander moves into full guard.
Alexander avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Faber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alexander swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Faber avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Faber has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Alexander to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Faber is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Alexander pulls down on the head and he's put Faber to sleep! This one is all over!
