Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elvin Ruez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Makunouchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruez comes to the cage accompanied by Face Breaker - Poison Pen. Makunouchi has chosen sandstorm as his entrance music. Elvin Ruez could well score a knockout today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruez fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Makunouchi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ruez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Makunouchi has Ruez in his guard.

Ruez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Makunouchi dives on top into guard.
Ruez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Makunouchi manages to get himself to full guard.

Makunouchi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ruez is aware though and is defending well.

Ruez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Makunouchi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ruez has managed to get both his arms back between Makunouchi's legs - danger averted.

Ruez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
