Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ash Thomas!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jackson manages to avoid it.
Thomas thows a leg kick but Jackson checks it
and Jackson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Thomas thinking.
Jackson misses with a takedown attempt - Thomas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Thomas throws a front kick aimed at Jackson's knee but Jackson avoids it well.
Thomas is looking to land body kicks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Jackson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

and Thomas counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ash Thomas will probably get the nod.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thomas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Thomas makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Jackson really felt that one!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

enabling Thomas to counter with a crisp jab.

That was a close round but Ash Thomas did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Thomas wants to improve his position but instead Jackson has moved into half guard.

Jackson is nestled in close to Thomas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jackson is stalling here. Thomas is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jackson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Thomas has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Thomas wants to take a breather but Jackson manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Thomas.
