PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kid Kamakazi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sho Fukamachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fukamachi has chosen Genki Sudo world order mindshift as his entrance music. Sho Fukamachi will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kid Kamakazi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sho Fukamachi!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fukamachi fails to land with a series of punches.
Fukamachi doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kamakazi counters with a stiff right hand.
Kamakazi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fukamachi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Kamakazi moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kamakazi.
Kamakazi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Fukamachi tries for a takedown but Kamakazi circles away easily
and Kamakazi counters with a three punch combo that has Fukamachi backing up. Fukamachi nods at Kamakazi to acknowledge the strikes.

Kid Kamakazi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sho Fukamachi.

Let's hope that Fukamachi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kamakazi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kamakazi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fukamachi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Fukamachi gets control of Kamakazi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fukamachi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kamakazi decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Kamakazi lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Kamakazi counters with a nice low kick that buckles Fukamachi's knee momentarily.

Kamakazi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Fukamachi has his takedown stuffed
and Kamakazi finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kamakazi is pressing down on Fukamachi's thigh, looking to free his foot. Fukamachi is holding on for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kid Kamakazi.

Kamakazi manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fukamachi on his heels. He'll look to pass Fukamachi's guard now, I'm sure.

Fukamachi is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Fukamachi!
