Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Morten Eriksen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kubla Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Khan's choice of entrance music: Xanadu. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Morten Eriksen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kubla Khan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eriksen ducks right into an uppercut from Khan.
Khan connects with a right hand. Eriksen shakes it off.
Khan looks to land a combination. Eriksen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Eriksen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Khan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Eriksen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Khan stuffs the takedown attempt from Eriksen. Eriksen gets slowly back to his feet.
Eriksen fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Morten Eriksen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Khan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Eriksen at a distance.
Khan throws a series of strikes that have Eriksen backpedaling.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Eriksen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Khan defends it nicely.
Eriksen tries to clinch but Khan moves away
and Khan counters with a nice body shot.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Eriksen misses with a punch on the inside.

Khan manages to break the clinch.
Khan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Khan lands with a good body shot.
Eriksen is breathing heavily.
Khan connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Khan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Khan goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Khan lands a left and a right that send Eriksen crashing to the mat, dazed. Khan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Eriksen is rocked!


It looks like Morten Eriksen has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Khan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kubla Khan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice body punch from Khan.
Khan shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Eriksen eats them both and turns towards Khan to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Oh Eriksen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Morten Eriksen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eriksen takes one to the chin there.

Khan cracks Eriksen with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Eriksen looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Khan finish him?

Khan drops Eriksen with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Eriksen looks back up at him and smiles so Khan waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sloppy strikes from Khan. Those never looked like landing.
Eriksen seems to have got his legs back now.

Khan drops Eriksen with a beautiful combination! Eriksen stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Khan is looking for the KO!

Khan feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Eriksen sprawling to the canvas! Eriksen rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Khan finish him?!

Khan drops Eriksen with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Eriksen looks back up at him and smiles so Khan waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Khan Throws a clean left jab. Khan Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Eriksen's chin! Eriksen crumbles to the ground and Khan follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Khan!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kubla Khan!
