Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Garcia tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rodrigues sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Garcia somewhat.
Rodrigues misses with an uppercut.
Rodrigues throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Garcia.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Garcia looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Garcia is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rodrigues is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Garcia in particular looking to stall.

Garcia seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rodrigues does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rodrigues really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garcia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Garcia slips a straight right by Rodrigues.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Garcia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rodrigues's waist but Rodrigues gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Garcia off to one side.
Rodrigues avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Garcia is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Rodrigues looks calm but he's in trouble here. Garcia gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Rodrigues is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Garcia lets go of the hold and Rodrigues can pop his arm back in it's socket.
