Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Herbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Herbert has chosen Bodies as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Karl Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Herbert!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Herbert as he avoids it easily.
Herbert fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Karl Anderson has been cut.

Anderson shoots in and bounces Herbert off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Herbert preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Anderson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Herbert keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully.
Anderson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Herbert swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Anderson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Anderson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Herbert tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Anderson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Herbert misses with a two punch combination.
Herbert throws a left and a right that both miss
and Anderson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Herbert really felt that one!

and Anderson counters with a single leg into guard. Herbert didn't expect that.
Herbert has momentary wrist control but Anderson slips an elbow through the middle.
Anderson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Anderson stands up from Herbert's guard - Anderson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Herbert swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Anderson moves into the clinch.
Herbert prevents a takedown attempt there.
Anderson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Herbert pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karl Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Anderson has managed to clinch.
Herbert tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Herbert throws a punch but it's blocked by Anderson.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Anderson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Herbert is trying to break the clinch but Anderson is controlling him.

Anderson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Anderson pushes Herbert away with a front kick.
Nice shot lands for Anderson.

Herbert gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Anderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Anderson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Herbert for as long as he can get away with.
Anderson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Anderson lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Anderson prevents Herbert from getting back to his feet.
Anderson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Anderson trying to control but Herbert is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anderson lands a couple of elbows.
Anderson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Anderson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Anderson chips away with some ground and pound.
Anderson passes Herbert's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Anderson lands with a punch from half guard.
Nice strikes from Anderson there.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Anderson connects with a nice short shot to Herbert's temple.
Anderson works his way into side control.
Anderson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Anderson cracks Herbert with an elbow. That is naaassty.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Anderson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Herbert has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Anderson misses with a few strikes there.

Anderson closes the distance and clinches.
Herbert can't break the clinch.
Herbert lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Anderson or not.
Anderson lands a damaging elbow.
Anderson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Herbert's efforts to push away.
Herbert has a couple of punches blocked by Anderson.
Herbert struggles to land a body shot inside as Anderson controls his hands.
Anderson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Herbert can do to turn this around?

Anderson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Anderson manages to end up in side control.
Anderson lands a nice forearm strike.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Herbert is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Anderson take his back! Uh oh - Anderson has got a rear naked choke here! Herbert is forced to tap! It's all over! One monent is all it takes in this sport!
