Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Hayabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Celebration of the lizard. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryu Hayabusa!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayabusa lands a nice shot to the body.
Douglas looks for a takedown but Hayabusa sprawls well.
Jab, jab by Hayabusa - just one landing.
Douglas swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Douglas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
James Douglas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Douglas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hayabusa is fending him off so far but Douglas persists. Nope, Hayabusa circles away and we're back to standing.
Douglas throws a lazy uppercut
letting Hayabusa counter with a right hand.
Douglas rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hayabusa counters with a lovely shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Douglas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hayabusa connects with a single shot there.
Douglas shoots for a takedown but Hayabusa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Douglas is breathing heavily.
Douglas throws a poor cross that misses
and Hayabusa counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Hayabusa's corner calls for a 1-2. Hayabusa obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Hayabusa closes the distance and clinches.

Hayabusa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hayabusa throws the kick towards the body but Douglas avoids it.

Hayabusa cracks Douglas with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Douglas misses with a shot to the body
and Hayabusa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hayabusa is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Douglas had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Hayabusa connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Douglas momentarily.
Hayabusa sizes up Douglas with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Douglas has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hayabusa moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

and Douglas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Douglas shoots in for a takedown but Hayabusa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hayabusa scores with a nice strike.
Hayabusa cracks a nice hook into Douglas's ribs.

Oooooh!!! Hayabusa has knocked Douglas down with a huge combo! Hayabusa steps away and waves a wobbly Douglas back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Douglas is rocked!
Hayabusa is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Douglas flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Douglas is out cold! Hayabusa holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
