The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babcock misses with a two punch combination.
Rose throws a right hand that misses
and Babcock counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Babcock throws a leg kick
and Rose counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rose getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Rose rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Babcock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rose's guard.
Babcock pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rose is keeping the position for now.
Rose looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Rose looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Babcock trying to control but Rose is working from the bottom.

Rose got a little sloppy there for a moment and Babcock has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rose has managed to get both his arms back between Babcock's legs - danger averted.

Babcock is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rose is aware though and is defending well.
Rose is looking to stand up but Babcock won't let him.
Babcock looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rose advances to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rose passes into side control, despite Babcock's attempt to control the position.
Babcock is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rose's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Babcock is looking for a sweep. Rose is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Babcock is refusing to be controlled, as Rose sits in half guard.
Babcock wants to improve his position but Rose is controlling well.
Rose content to control rather than advance.
Rose is looking to take a break and control but Babcock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Derrick Rose wasn't active enough on the ground.

The fighters circle momentarily. Babcock darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Rose listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Babcock takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Rose throws a jab but it's blocked by Babcock.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rose misses with a hook.
Oh Babcock is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rose drops Babcock with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Babcock! Rose dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
