Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jalapeeeno Poltta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edgar Frog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jalapeeeno Poltta has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jalapeeeno Poltta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edgar Frog!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frog with a lazy takedown attempt

and Poltta counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Frog wants to control but Poltta is keeping busy.
Frog tries to roll over but Poltta keeps him under control.

Frog looking for submissions off his back.
Frog is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Poltta blocks the strikes from Frog.

Frog moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Poltta is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Frog throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Poltta sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Frog wants to sweep here but Poltta controlling him for the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Poltta got a little sloppy there for a moment and Frog has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Poltta has managed to get both his arms back between Frog's legs - danger averted.
Frog will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Frog is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Poltta defends well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jalapeeeno Poltta dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


No joy there for Frog, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Poltta shoots in and bounces Frog off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Poltta is controlling the pace.

Frog is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Poltta pulls his head out easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Poltta perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Frog trying to hold on to Poltta's head to control him but Poltta postures up.
Frog is breathing heavily.
Poltta works his foot free and advances to mount.
Poltta avoids the attempt from Frog to control.
Frog can't escape the position.

Poltta content just to control the position here.
Frog is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Frog might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Poltta kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Frog is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Poltta controlling from the full mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Frog gets the takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jalapeeeno Poltta dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Frog enables Poltta to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Frog manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Frog is trying to control the position but Poltta postures up.

Frog seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Poltta controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Frog is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Frog doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Frog takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Frog is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Poltta misses with a takedown attempt

and Frog counters with a nice double leg into side control. Poltta won't be happy with that.
Frog wants to lay and pray for a moment but Poltta keeps working.
Poltta is trying to buck Frog off.

Frog tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Frog has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Poltta wants to get back to his feet but Frog drags him back down.
Frog in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Poltta wants to get back to his feet.
Frog misses with the ground and pound.

Jalapeeeno Poltta overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Frog works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Frog tries to score with some ground and pound. Poltta controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Frog connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Poltta some visible discomfort.
Poltta is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Frog has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Poltta takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Frog is trying to get an arm triangle but Poltta is defending well.

Poltta explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

and Poltta counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Frog's guard now.
Edgar Frog has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Frog wants to sweep but no luck.

Jalapeeeno Poltta is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Frog is striking but Poltta is not phased and passes to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jalapeeeno Poltta.
Well Poltta has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
