Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Villi Kotobalavu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Callaghan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kotobalavu comes to the cage accompanied by "Another Body Murdered" by Faith No more & Boo-Yaa Tribe. Villi Kotobalavu had a look across the cage there at his opponent. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Villi Kotobalavu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richard Callaghan!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Callaghan misses with an uppercut

and Kotobalavu counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kotobalavu is trying to control the action in half guard but Callaghan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kotobalavu is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Callaghan sees it coming and defends easily.
Well, if Kotobalavu is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kotobalavu is looking to take a break and control but Callaghan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kotobalavu is stalling here. Callaghan is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kotobalavu seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Callaghan has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kotobalavu manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Callaghan prevents Kotobalavu from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Callaghan is keen to just control but Kotobalavu is a slippery customer.
Callaghan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Kotobalavu trying to hold on to Callaghan's head to control him but Callaghan postures up.
Kotobalavu is doing well to control the position and prevent Callaghan from advancing to side control.

and Kotobalavu counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Callaghan is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Callaghan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kotobalavu.
Callaghan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kotobalavu throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Callaghan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

I would just about give that final round to Richard Callaghan.
