Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tim Ernst!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kay pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ernst is looking to chop away at Kay's legs.
Kay scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ernst doesn't seem bothered though.
Kay throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ernst counters with a stiff right hand.
Kay misses with a lunging right hand
and Ernst counters with a stiff right hand.
Kay dodges the punch combination from Ernst.
Kay tried to score with a low kick but Ernst checks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kay keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ernst.
Kay takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kay throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Ernst counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kay!

Ernst has control of Kay's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kay regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ernst connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Kay wants to control but Ernst is having none of it.
Kay can't escape the position.
Ernst controlling his opponent.
Ernst lands a big shot there that rocks Kay but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Kay tries to hold on but Ernst postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ernst looking to control but Kay is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kay tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ernst lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Ernst looking to control and managing it successfully.

Kay is in all sorts of trouble here.
Ernst fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
