Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rashid Magomedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Magomedov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wauzrPn0cfg&feature=related. Maynard has chosen Bat Country as his entrance music. Rashid Magomedov had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 172.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The key to victory for Rashid Magomedov has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maynard shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Maynard showed some decent athleticism there.
Maynard is taking a breather. Magomedov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Maynard is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Magomedov sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Magomedov is staying active underneath Maynard, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Maynard is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Magomedov is just riding it out for now. Maynard eventually gives up the hold.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Maynard in particular looking to stall.
