Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenric Kyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phantom Menace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kyle comes to the cage accompanied by Simply Ravishing. Menace has chosen Leroy Brown as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Kyle is predictable there
and Menace counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kyle misses with a kick to the body
and Menace counters with a nice body shot.
Kyle lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kyle wants to slow Menace down by chopping away at his legs.
Menace throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Menace throws a leg kick that is checked

so Kyle counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Menace working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kyle.
Menace wants to sweep but no luck.
Menace is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Menace wants to control but Kyle is keeping him busy.

Kyle is looking for a sweep. Menace is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Menace slips a nice elbow through Kyle's hands, connecting with Kyle's forehead.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Menace is trying to control the action in half guard but Kyle is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Phantom Menace hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Menace counters with a head kick.

Menace throws a lazy right hand but Kyle sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kyle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Menace as he avoids it easily.
Menace looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Kyle fails in his attempt to clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kyle misses with a takedown attempt - Menace sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Kyle counters with a single leg into guard. Menace didn't expect that.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Menace is on top in guard.

Menace decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kenric Kyle will probably get the nod.

and Kyle counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kyle throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Menace makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Menace misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Menace looks to land a right hand but Kyle moved out of range.

Kyle misses with a kick to the body
and Menace counters with a good low kick that Kyle was not able to check.
Kyle takes one on the chin but seems OK.

and Kyle decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Menace's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Menace holds on and takes a little breather.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Phantom Menace hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Kyle drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Menace manages to get back to half guard.
Menace is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kyle's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kyle's back!
Menace lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Kyle hold on?!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Menace fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kyle is out of range.
Kyle tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Menace paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Menace throws a nice outside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kyle tries for a takedown but Menace sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Menace misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kyle.
Menace is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Menace throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Menace throws a low kick but Kyle avoids it.
Kyle throws the kick towards the body but Menace avoids it.
Menace throws a leg kick but Kyle checks it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Menace misses the shot to the body.
A low kick from Kyle is predictable there
and Menace counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Menace shoots and misses

and Kyle counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Menace's guard now.

Kyle is fighting to break Menace's control of his arms but Menace is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Kyle throws a strike but Menace rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Menace wants to control from the top but Kyle keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Phantom Menace.
Menace misses with a looping right.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kyle bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kyle blocks a head kick by Menace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Menace lands a nice hook to Kyle's body. Kyle takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Phantom Menace.
I think Menace has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
