Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Ovrut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ishmael Boorg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boorg is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rock of Ages. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ishmael Boorg!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ovrut throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Boorg counters with an inside leg kick.
Boorg thumps Ovrut with a low kick.
Ovrut misses with a lunging right hand
and Boorg counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Ovrut misses with a right hand
and Boorg counters with an inside leg kick.
Boorg gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ovrut is looking to reverse the position.
Boorg working the strikes but Ovrut uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boorg thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ovrut's head.
Boorg thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Boorg is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ishmael Boorg was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Ovrut misses with a lunging right hand
and Boorg makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Ovrut really felt that one!
Boorg lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ovrut's sensitive parts.
Mark Ovrut is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Boorg counters with a nice body shot.
Boorg shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ovrut pinned against the cage. Ovrut gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Boorg lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Boorg has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Ovrut clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Ovrut rolls, trying to escape but Boorg keeps control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Boorg thows a body kick. Ovrut tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Good exchange - Ovrut coming out on top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Boorg counters with a low kick, right behind Ovrut 's knee.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Boorg lands a big shot there that rocks Ovrut but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boorg postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Ovrut in real trouble here! The ref calls for Ovrut to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
