Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rickson Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Black Sirius!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sirius throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sirius throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva.

Sirius closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Sirius getting side control.
Silva gets back to full guard.
Sirius throws a big right hand that misses.
Silva is trying to keep Sirius in close.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sirius can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sirius connects with a couple of short punches.
Sirius seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sirius trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.

Sirius trying to stand up but can't free himself from Silva's guard.
Silva throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Sirius postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sirius, into his guard.
Sirius really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Silva wants to control from the top but Sirius keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rickson Silva has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Silva gets caught flat footed, as Sirius shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sirius is aware though and is defending well.
Sirius throws a big right hand that misses.
Sirius throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Silva not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Silva has his feet on Sirius's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

and Silva counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sirius's guard now.
Sirius keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Silva is breathing heavily.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Sirius pushes Silva off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Silva gets caught flat footed, as Sirius shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Sirius stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Sirius lands with a right hand.
Sirius misses with a right hand

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva wants to take a breather but Sirius is having none of it.

Silva decides to return to a standing position.
Sirius leaves Silva with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Silva fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rickson Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sirius misses with a combination

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rickson Silva dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Sirius tries to kick Silva off but Silva keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silva is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Silva is trying for a kimura here. Sirius looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Silva wins by kimura!
