PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Mclevain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caleb Perez looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Caleb Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dirk Mclevain!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mclevain shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Perez napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Perez looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Mclevain takes a little break here. Perez wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Mclevain lands a nice forearm strike.
Mclevain remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Perez takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Mclevain slows the pace down.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
