Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jay Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Schoonover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopez comes to the cage accompanied by Can't be touched. Schoonover has chosen Daylight - Matt and Kim as his entrance music. Julius Schoonover told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lopez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Schoonover has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lopez.
Jay Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Lopez does no damage.
Schoonover bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Lopez doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Schoonover counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Schoonover is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lopez wants to get back to full guard but Schoonover has mounted him!
Lopez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schoonover on the ground.
Lopez takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Lopez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Schoonover tries to control but Lopez wriggling away.
Lopez is trying to stand but he's just given Schoonover his back.
