PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chase's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Gangsta Gangsta. Fadden is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: From Hell by Faces Of Mars. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Jack Fadden enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vincent Chase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Fadden!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fadden tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Chase counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Chase.
Fadden tries to circle away but Chase has him pinned against the cage.
Fadden gets through Chase's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

The referee calls for Chase to work.
Fadden drops down looking for an ankle pick but Chase pulls his leg out and moves away.
Fadden moves to clinch but Chase breaks away
and Chase counters with a body kick.
Chase misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Chase gets caught napping as Fadden dives in and scores a takedown. Chase manages to retain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chase has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Fadden must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Fadden wants to stand and escape but instead Chase has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Chase makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chase accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Chase postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Chase throws and elbow that misses. Fadden uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chase's guard. Nice move by Fadden!

Chase is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Chase moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Chase bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fadden's guard.
Chase is working Fadden over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Chase is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Fadden can't fight it off and eventually Chase manages to take the fight to the floor. Fadden looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Chase postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Chase sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fadden's guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chase connects with a nice short shot to Fadden's temple.
Chase working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Vincent Chase overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fadden tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Vincent Chase is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Chase takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fadden is working to get back to half guard.
Chase tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Jack Fadden has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Chase's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well Chase has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
