Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mendez Papillion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Oscar Jones!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Papillion getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Papillion which made him look bad.
Jones on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Jones throws the left hand but Papillion avoids the punch easily.
Jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jones moves out of range of the strikes.
Mendez Papillion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Papillion misses with a double jab

and Jones counters with a takedown into side control.
Jones in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Papillion takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Papillion has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Papillion is on top in guard.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Papillion will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Papillion tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Jones counters with a left to the body.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jones lands a nice short elbow.

Papillion is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jones has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Papillion's face.

Jones lands a big shot to the head and Papillion winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
