The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Armsworth counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Shields shoots and misses
and Armsworth counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Shields tries for a takedown but Armsworth circles away easily
and Armsworth counters with a three punch combo that has Shields backing up. Shields nods at Armsworth to acknowledge the strikes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Shields. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shields shoots and misses
and Armsworth counters with a stiff right hand.

Armsworth looking to score a takedown here. Shields is defending well but Armsworth drives through and ends up in Shields's guard.

Armsworth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shields. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Armsworth wants to stand but Shields has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Armsworth thows a huge punch but Shields dodges it nicely.
